Uncles

Yesterday I told Savannah and Joseph that Uncle Bobbie and was coming down to see them. Savannah goes, "yea! and Uncle Caleb is coming too?" I said no, just Uncle Bobbie. Savannah thought for a minute then said, "Yup, and Uncle Abraham too!" I tried to tell her that it was just Bobbie coming down but she kept saying that Uncle Caleb and Uncle Abraham were coming to see her too because they loved her. I guess you better get on it boys!

Morning Tranquillity at the Smith Homestead

It is truly a BEAUTIFUL morning...so I thought I would take a few pictures...of the "tranquillity" of the land...surrounding the "Smith Homestead" in Florida...Garvin and Hyrum...(Abraham on some occations) have worked hard in turning the grounds into a "park-like" effect...I have included pictures...of the Florida bush...before the guys...begin to clear the rest of the 6 acres...I know all you children have stories to tell...of all the "paint-ball" tournaments on this property...night-time "hide and go seek" type games..."mud" fights...etc. This has been a GRAND PIECE of land...that has given us all moments...of FUN, PEACEFULNESS, and BEAUTY...We have been truly BLESSED these past 20 years...For me...it was a place to raise up our family...and to work...among my own private "Garden of Eden"...Enjoy! (noticed...I didn't take pictures of SNAKES, ALLEGATORS, SCORPIONS, BEARS, DEER, RACCOON, WILD TURKEYS...RED ANTS...or COCHROACHES...POISON OAK or POISON IVY) (smile) (Oh...and your dad has his back brace on, so he can work outside...) (smile)

OK...Now, we will feature our little "Sammy"!!!! Jenny and I talked about her getting stuff up on this BLOG...They need to replace their camera....PLUS... she has never worked with a BLOG before.....so until we get together in the next couple of weeks....I will make "her" post for her....(smile) Love this picture....Dave....It is quite obvious...you think he is really one "special" little guy....(smile)

There is always...something...that happens at most Wedding receptions...something goes wrong...Cathy Garrett had planned an OUTDOOR...wedding reception along their beach front/lake front home...UNFORTUNATELY, Florida is known for its...afternoon..."downpours" and this day was no exception....So, if you are wondering why my "hair" is so WET...it is cause...I was "caught" in the "downpour"...(smile)



Angel had been working for Cathy during the week...getting Cathy's home...ready...Food prepared...Took care of all the little children at the "Temple"---during the "sealing"...and then, helped all during the reception...The above picture was taken "before" the downpour took place....(The picture with Angel)



This was truly a very busy weekend...so I am catching up...getting a few more pictures up...(smile)

In our last General Conference...Sister Cheryl C. Lant talked about "Righteous Traditions"...One of our "Smith Family" traditions...was the "Memorial Day Breakfast" where the "Holy Griddle" helped make possible....Ward family gatherings....around a GREAT BREAKFAST...Many of you could not be there, today...so, I took pictures...so you...would not be completely left out...(smile)

Smith "Genetics" - A bit "unbalanced"

Dear Posterity...If you have ever wondered how "balanced" the genetics on the "Smith" side of the family are....You can observe...that perhaps...there may be some "unbalanced genes" traced directly to your father...Evidence: The picture with the rope...was taken at Hyrum's "Eagle" project in April 2008...and the other...was taken at "Adam-ondi-ahman in Missouri....2007...So, if you are having a particularily difficult day with your children...you may be able to trace the problem to an "unruly Smith gene"....(smile)
