First Smith Family Pumpkin Carving

Annie was dying to carve pumpkins for Halloween and so yesterday we decided to make an attempt at the feat as a family. And so, the adventure begins (“And may the odds ever be in our favor”)!

Annie and the Twins with their pumpkins! Madison and McKenzie weren’t exactly sure what to make of these big orange things.

After opening the pumpkin, McKenzie dove right in!!

 Madison wasn’t so sure…

Daddy on the other hand was hungry!!

McKenzie was having so much fun she decided to help Madison with her pumpkin!

Daddy begins to carve out the face of his pumpkin

Madison finally began to touch her pumpkin, but only with a spoon!! And even then she was wary…

McKenzie threw all caution to the wind and began to…experiment… with Mommy’s pumpkin

The actual pumpkin didn’t taste as well as she had hoped and so she began to try the seeds, which she found to be rather enjoyable (the next day her diaper was full of ‘em)!

And here is the end result!!

When it was all said and done, all 5 of us had a wonderful time! ;)

Abe and Annie Come to Visit

I know...I still haven't FINISHED posting MANY of our trips
this past SUMMER...but, I will go back...eventually...and COMPLETE those trips...

However, I just loaded these pictures up of
Abe and Annie's VISIT a couple of weeks ago!
The pictures were TOO cute NOT to get these up!
Abe wanted to help his dad on a cooking "community" service project for:
Glacier High School's Booster Club!
Garvin home teaches the Vice Principle of Glacier High School - who called and asked Garvin
if he would cook for their "Booster Club"...Of course, Garvin said "Yes"...
We cooked two Fridays in-a-row...

First...I will begin with our DARLING TWIN
baby girls...They are SO CUTE TO WATCH!!!!!

The many faces of Madison!
She is so fun to photograph!
Abe is in the background - making McKenzie laugh!

It was fun watching "Papa" play "blocks" with the twins...
Abe joined in...while Annie enjoyed watching...
The girls LOVED IT!

For me...as a "Mama" seeing and observing my own children
as parents...Abe LOVES to wrestle with the girls...
McKenzie is "belly laughing" as Abe rolls her around!
You can't help LAUGHING yourself...

GLACIER HIGH SCHOOL - Booster Club Event
Annie's brother, Jacob, played on the other "football" team - Flathead High School
Glacier and Flathead have been "rival" teams for years...
So, here we were cooking for "Glacier" while Jacob played for the "other" team!
In fact, Scott Dickson, one of our brothers who helped us cook...
wore his "Flathead" tee shirt...while we cooked...though, we
all ended up wearing "CHURCH" tee shirts from one of our
"CHURCH" events...(smile)
Our tee shirts said...
"Catch the Vision"
"Who Am I"
"Where Did I Come From"
"Who Can I Become"
(that was on the FRONT)
On the BACK - it had a SWORD...and it said...
"Arise and Shine Forth"
Helaman's Camp
Kalispell STAKE

LOVE IT!
OK...now, for the pictures...

 Abe cleaning the "Holy Griddle"
before the game...
We began to cook 2 hours
before the game...
We were only to cook to
HALF TIME...
but, people kept coming...
so, we had to send someone to the store from the booster club...
to get us more
hamburgers!

Garvin experimented!
We had BACON/Grilled onion BURGERS
(top seller)
and for those who wanted
"MUSHROOM/SWISS CHEESE"
burgers...had those...with
grilled ONIONS!

ABRAHAM...always in
"Sassy mode"

Scott Dickson - "in his Flathead High School shirt"
(by-the-way - has already given me "2" root canals...and soon TWO MORE)
(Good thing he has a GREAT sense of HUMOR...helps me when his is working on my TEETH!)
(smile) GREAT DENTIST...by the way!!!!!!!!!!
Also, Wally Hartman, came to help us out as well...
(Very sweet man - Psychologist - need one to work with Garvin on the GRILL!)
(smile)
Martha Reading (Left) and Mary Lou Hartman (Right)
Mary Lou has been my "right arm" for so many
Relief Society "moments"...though, she is now
in Young Women's - she has become
one of my dearest friends here...!
LOVE YOU, Mary Lou!
