Annual Burn - 2017

There was going to be a "Bon-Fire" event...

but, Garvin decided to burn today...

cause the weather was in perfect alignment to do it...

Overcast...and cooler than it has been...

We did alot of CLEAN UP and necessary cutting of several

trees...for a section of new fence...and future...

new extension to the house...

including all the cleanup to the property in general...

We had amassed quite the pile to burn...which seems

to be...a Smith male form of excitement/entertainment

to BURN piles of stuff!

is on fire...not that...it could have

been a possibility...smile

but...I was "safe"...smile

Night Before....the 4th of July

There was so much to do...prior to the 4th of July

breakfast...Almost everyone stayed 

all night at our house...cause Garvin wanted to get

to the church by 4:15 a.m.

Yeah...breakfast was at 7 a.m.

They do things EARLY in IDAHO!

smile

So...some camped out in the yard...some slept inside...

but the funny part...was - GARVIN forgot to turn off the sprinklers...

which go off around midnight...yep...

the Jeppson boys...were in sleeping bags...had the hoods

over their heads..before they realized they were being

"sprinkled" on...Jacob was in his hammock in the trees... and

didn't feel the water...His boys got him up...

Good thing...Jacob turned off the system...

or Jared/Angel's family...would have all

ended up in our house, also!

One of the "chores" to be done...

was cutting up 100 pounds of potatoes...for 

the breakfast...

The Heiner family came over...but, didn't spend the night...

However...Sarah...didn't get to leave...till

the potatoes were done!

Cooking Event - for Young Single Adults

Lots of cooking events these past couple of weeks...

We cooked for approx. 400 - 500 Young Single Adults...

a Rexburg Young Single Adult Stake...at the "Cable Factory"...

where you can get hooked to a cable...and zip

across the little lake...

AGAIN...no way can an event be successful...

without MANY hands...

This took quite a crew...

Since, we were near the lake...the children...were

entertained...Jessica ended up with the babies...

to cook the "French Fries"...

and Emily's first experience...She ended

up with the hot dogs...

 Sadly...Jacob was on the WRONG side of the griddle...

It was QUITE HOT outside...but, Jacob...

ROASTED...even more...

 Our first time doing "French Fries"...

 Cooked over 400 PLUS "Bacon - Cheese"

4th of July BREAKFAST - 2017

We cooked for "3" Wards...All the extra

hands that helped us to it...is made it possible!

There were approx. 300 people who were fed!

I didn't get too many pictures...

We have done so much this summer...

So, I am going to start with our 4th of July

celebration...and work backwards...

till I can get all the events covered...

We went to Menan...(Idaho) for our 3rd year...
