Easter Sunday - Part 1

Because my computer is down...and all my programs I

use to handle all my pictures...

I am on a slow boat to China...getting pictures

filed, etc.

I downloaded over 400 pictures from our MISSOURI trip

and our EASER weekend...

I have only a few pictures done...

so I will start with some of the FAMILY

pictures from this EASTER weekend...

Going to take me a long time, so please, be patient with me...

I am having to handle Relief Society, also...

and a number of other things...

We are now up to 60 degree weather...

and I can keep myself out of the garden...cleaning up old beds, etc.

Know Your Rights - Introduction to the Constitution

Tomorrow, I will be beginning my Constitution 101 Course with Hillsdale College...FREE for anyone who wishes to join in...I purchased  their READER...because I LOVE BOOKS...Having started to READ it...it is one of the very best I have seen...

Our RIGHTS that God has given us is being STRIPPED from us on a DAILY BASIS...Any support to those who...contribute to the desecration of our Constitution...or strips us of our God-given rights...is fighting AGAINST Father's kingdom...KNOW which side of the fence you will be PROTECTING...

Wanted you to have an EXAMPLE of what kind of material you would learn...so I am adding this 33 minute INTRODUCTION...

Our Doctrine and Covenants was very clear...on how the Lord felt about our Constitution and the men he PERSONALLY raised up...D&C 101: 77-80...

In 2004...President Boyd K. Packer made this statement:

I do not know when that day will come or how it will come to pass. I feel sure that when it does come to pass, among those who will step forward from among this people will be men who hold the Holy Priesthood and who carry as credentials a bachelor or doctor of law degree. And women, also, of honor. And there will be judges as well.

Others from the world outside the Church will come, as Colonel Thomas Kane did, and bring with them their knowledge of the law to protect this people.

We may one day stand alone, but we will not change or lower our standards or change our course.

 
 

TWO Sticks In Thine Hand

Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, and the Truth

We know that Nephi had the Law of Moses because the plates of brass contained the “five books of Moses” (1Ne. 5:11), among other important information (1Ne. 5:11 – 15).

We know that the Ten Commandments are contained in Exodus, one of the “five books of Moses” (Ex. 20:1 – 17).

Exodus 20:13 instructs us “Thou shalt not kill.” Period.

Nephi killed Laban after a struggle with the Spirit (1Ne. 4:18). We know we are to follow the Spirit’s promptings, and that “whatever God commands is right” (Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 256–7). However, this principle is not peculiar to Latter-day Saints (See Wikipedia: continuous revelation).

But, not many know that killing Laban is also in accordance with the Law of Moses!

1Ne. 4:11 informs us that the Spirit informed Nephi that, “the Lord hath delivered him into thy hands.”

According to the Law of Moses, “He that smitteth a man, so he die, shall be surely put to death” (Ex 21:12), unless, “And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee” (Ex 21:13). The “place whither he shall flee” were “cities of refuge” where a man could dwell for a time without facing the punishment of death while the family of the dead cooled down (see Bible Dictionary ‘Cities of Refuge’).

Nephi did not lie in wait as he “was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things [he] should do (1Ne. 4:6),” and “the Lord hath delivered [Laban] into thy hands” (1Ne. 4:11).

Thus, according to the Law of Moses, Nephi was justified in killing Laban.

This is just one more little known connection between the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Could Joseph Smith have known this? Possibly. If so he would have had to have been either a genius or a madman to have remembered so little of a technicality to insert into the Book of Mormon. Or, he was a prophet of the Living God through whom the Lord brought forth the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

He is the latter.

What Do You Do When You Become "Empty Nesters"?

Garvin decided that today...we would go for a drive...

We didn't need to worry or think about

leaving anyone home...so, we simply...took off!

After 33 years...it was rather "liberating"!

(smile)

Garvin wanted to drive to Eureka...swing over in a loop...

and hit Libby...and then, come home through

Marion and Kila...

We had SO MUCH FUN! We took the jeep, since, the predictions

of snow...today...could have been a problem for the Lincoln...

Of course, I had my camera...Garvin promised me...that if I saw

something interesting...he would be willing to STOP

the car...back up if he had to...etc.

I can not begin to tell you how many times that happened!

(smile)

We had LUNCH in Eureka...and talked to some of the people there...

Went into small shops and such...The town no longer has

any industry...now that the logging companies had to 

shut down...Eureka is only about 8 miles from

the Canadian border...where much of their income comes

from the Canadians...because the prices of goods

are so much cheaper here in the United States...
