Since everyone is talking about their babies...

I thought I should share mine. :)
Outfitted with a captains quarters (table, chairs, etc) and cannon ports, this little pirate ship...would not even make the maiden voyage. Designer's flaw.
I could have done the following to mention a few:
- Contracted one brother-in-law to engineer and recommend the right materials.
- Contracted a brother to write up a legal document protecting me from and liabilities related to this vessel in any form.
- Contracted another brother-in-law to use his surgical skills to cut the right length of material for the sails.
- Hired a economist father to advise on the financial storms that would potentially disturb the shipping industry.
- I suppose I could have hired another brother-in-law to protect me from trespassers and saboteurs, and possibly my other brothers to advise on tactical maneuverability...

Instead, I took the cheap way out. Materials were provided to me for free, and the labor was myself. Therefore, I take no responsibility for any mishaps that may occur along the journey. Built and sold "as is".

I added all the legal small print below to indemnify myself. You may not be able to see it for the print is that small. To those who try to hack into the html code to find and change this legal jargon, I have a group of "distinguished gentlemen" that will not hesitate in dispatching anyone who attempts. P-)
And since I know you are thinking, 'Is this all he does on his spare time?' I also do many other things, thank you very much!

These were our favorite pictures. We have yet to decide which one/s will be used but there ya go. Thanks to Annie's mom for taking awesome pictures and her dad for pretty much picking the spot to take 'em. It was a gorgeous day for taking pictures (that is after the rain... =)

The opening sentence to an article I read today. For what the world considers him a "smart" man, he's missing a few vital truths. Such as, "all things denote there is a God" and "if there be no God we are not, for there could have been no creation."
At a time when the name of the Lord is banned in many places, except to use in vain and vulgar ways, few stand tall to encourage and testify how much we need the Lord. The battle lines are becoming more clear to those with eyes to see and ears to hear. We have prophets, apostles, missionaries, pastors, priests, and everyday individuals who know and follow our Father in Heaven in meekness. Some with faith firm in a strong foundation, others less, still wondering and hoping.A few days ago, I attended a rally under the direction of Glen Beck (pics below). No matter one's political beliefs, the focus of this rally to restore honor to individuals and our country. To focus our attention back on God and develop more fully our faith, hope, and charity. Without the aid of our God, without His protection and guidance, we are left to ourselves and will lose to Satan and his power. As the Lord stated through His servants: "...whoso should possess this land of promise...shall serve God, or they should be swept off."

Do we remember Him?
Do we remember to call upon His name each day?
Do we remember to recognize His hand in all things and give thanks?
Do we have hope in His word?
Do we give service to others in word and deed, even if inconvenient?

"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to he dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may", or not at all if they choose. However, if we do not recognize His hand in our lives, we are as ice fishers walking out to the middle of a frozen lake without checking the thickness of the ice. If we are lucky, or have knowledge of the attributes of frozen water, the ice will support us enough. Eventually over time because of water flow below and heat of the sun above, the ice will break, and if we are on thin ice, will fall through the ice and drown. Then we will see the ice will not support them in that day.
Short-lived theories are like water that may freeze as "solid" ideals that may seem like it can be true. Esteemed by the world, and those of great standing as being valid, it may stay for a while, or many generations passed down. But eventually, the living water and doctrines of the Son melt away the false principles and thoughts of the world and swallow up anything that put trust on the vain things of the world.

Choose today! As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!
