Dreams. Fact or Fiction?

I had the strangest dream last night.
It took place in our house, but not in our house because it was in a basement... if you know what that means in dream talk. It was some kind of single's dance, I think.
Everyone was just standing around, not knowing what to do when Caleb comes down the stairs, with a bunch of people following him when he rips his white shirt off exposing a Superman symbol and said there was a Superhero dance going on down the street. But you could only come as a Superhero.
There was one person who spoke up and said that was a dumb idea. I'm sure what happened next but I seem to vaguely recall we threw her out of the party... or something of that nature.

Who thinks of these things?

Ah...the SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE!

Nathan Jared Day

I am so enjoying...a chance to live the simple life through the actions of my little grandchildren...A few days, ago, I was DELIGHTING in watching Nathan play with my garden hose...and his facination with the water that came out of the sprinkler...Couldn't resist taking a video and pictures to capture the "pure delight" of a child....

Turtle - Snapped at Me!

Remember the little poem on the little turtle? Well...it is TRUE...(smile) Watch the video...

I Have a Little Turtle

I have a little turtle, He lives in a box.
He swims in the water And he climbs on the rocks.
He snapped at a minnow
He snapped at a flea
He snapped at a mosquito
And he snapped at me.

He caught the minnow,
He caught the flea,
He caught the mosquito,
But he didn't catch me!

Simple Economic Lesson

This was sent to me...from a dear friend in MISSOURI, Sasha Grove....a very simple object lesson on SOCIALISM.....

A short economic lesson...An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed asingle student before but had, once, failed an entire class. Thatclass had insisted that socialism worked; and that no one would bepoor and no one would be rich - a great equalizer. The professor thensaid ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the samegrade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After thefirst test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. Thestudents who studied hard were upset and the students who studiedlittle were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, thestudents who studied little had studied even less and the ones whostudied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little.. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. Whenthe 3rd test rolled around the average was an F.The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling allresulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit ofanyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professortold them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when thereward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when governmenttakes all the reward away; no one will try or want to succeed.

Could it be any simpler than that...?

WISDOM

1. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
2. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong
3. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
4. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
5. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence.
6. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
7. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
8. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
9. You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
10 You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they will not do for themselves.

These words are often attributed to Abraham Lincoln, but according to the book They Never Said it: A Book of Fake Quotes, Misquotes, & Misleading Attributions, they are not from Lincoln.

The quotes were published in 1942 by William J. H. Boetcker, a Presbyterian minister. He released a pamphlet titled Lincoln On Limitations, which did include a Lincoln quote, but also added 10 statements written by Boetcker himself.

People who got the pamphlet thought the 10 statements were written by Lincoln and they have been distributed widely under Lincoln's name.

I WANT ONE!

R2-D2 is a master of product merchandising. The little droid’s likeness has appeared on everything from desktop speakers to USB hubs and salt and pepper shakers. Now you can take Artoo to bed with you every night with this new alarm clock.

This October (2008), UK toy maker Wesco Limited will release these tabletop R2-D2 alarm clocks. While this pint-sized R2 unit can’t display holograms of Princess Leia, he can at least project the current time on your wall. There’s also a little LCD time read out for daytime viewing (since these LED projection clocks have a tendency to only work well in a dark room).

So far, the clocks are only available for pre-order in the UK, but hopefully they’ll find their way stateside sometime soon. In the mean time, head on over to Play.com or Amazon UK and see if they’ll ship internationally.

General Conference Weekend - April 2009

Angel made this "Sunflower" cake for Jenny's birthday
We were in Texas when Angel had her birthday...so in the course of making
Jenny's cake...there was another cake that Angel ended up making...
so, both Jenny and Angel had candles to blow out
for "belated birthdays"!

Nathan LOVES the piano
He played while Angel was playing
Interesting "duet" (smile)
Picture of Nathan taken earlier in the week

Hyrum and Nathan - during Conference

Jared and Angel - a moment - during Conference

Sunday - During General Conference

There is nothing like...gathering the family together...during General Conference weekend...Dave and Jenny came up because his best friend (non-member) was getting married on Saturday and both Dave and Jenny were in the "wedding party"....However, the blessing of that wedding was for Papa and Granny to "babysit" SAMMY!!! (smile) I am posting a few pictures taken over the weekend...plus, one of Angel and Nathan that was taken a few days earlier...Can't think of a better combination...than "sitting at the feet of LIVING Prophets and Apostles" WITH FAMILY!!!! On Saturday, Jon, Linda, and Leah Evans joined our family for General Conference and a grand luncheon inbetween the morning and afternoon sessions!!!
We, also, celebrated Jenny and Angel's birthdays (on Sunday) - though, Angel's was in MARCH and Jenny's was on April 1st....Nevertheless, with turkey, mash potatoes, two cakes, and veggies on Sunday...Chicken and fried rices ,etc. on SATURDAY -
it was a wonderful weekend in EVERY WAY!!!
(NO ONE LOST ANY WEIGHT this past weekend) (smile)
