I am just now getting around to posting Hyrum's 16th Birthday...One of the major highlights was, of course, getting his driver's license. However, we did something for Hyrum that we have never done before...celebrated his birthday with a bunch of his friends...Hyrum's birthday is NEW YEAR's EVE...Consequently, it was never a good day to have a PARTY with his friends, since most celebrate the day with FAMILY....This year, we thought that it was about time...we threw him a SURPRISE party!!!! Hyrum...has a saying that he "eats babies"....GROSS, I know...but, he is a TEENAGER!!!! So, he asked Angel to make him a "Baby cake for him and his friends...." There was a YOUTH NEW YEAR'S EVE party at the Oveson's that night, and he wanted to take the cake to the party...for some FUN....As you can see, Angel did a FABULOUS JOB!!!! Hyrum was THRILLED!!!! However, it is TRADTION to take our children out to BREAKFAST on their birthdays...but, since he was getting his DRIVER's LICENSE in the MORNING, we thought we would take him to his FAVORITE "All-you-can-eat" Chinese Restaurant..."China Buffet" in Lake Mary....But, this year....we invited all his friends...who were at the restaurant BEFORE we got there!!! As you can see...we had a GREAT TIME...and Hyrum celebrated ALL DAY LONG!!! (smile)

WooHoo! We finally have a computer that I can use and not worry about when I'll have to try again to accomplish something. So here are a few Christmas pics that I have finally gotten around to posting.

MILESTONES

Today Hyrum blessed the sacrament for the first time. Last week I ordained him a priest. The end of an era is fast approaching. I have no more sons to ordain. My last act will be to confer the Melchizedek priesthood on Hyrum. The era must be continued through my children from that point on. Carry on!

Down, Down, Down....the drain....

Yesterday, Angel called...wanting to know what to do....about her "wedding rings".......that just went down her "bathtub DRAIN"....So, last night...Garvin, Jim McFadzean, and I went over to their home....What they had to do was...CUT A HOLE through their BEDROOM WALL...to get to the pipes....and take them apart that way....MIRACLE!!!! They GOT HER RINGS.....but, like all projects that involve a SMITH....the PIPE BROKE....So, hopefully, sometime, today, JARED will need to FIX the PIPE...and REPAIR the HOLE in the WALL....(smile)

Well...we are finally tearing out the boy's bathroom....We are in the TEARING UP STAGE...Will take pictures...when we are in the "FINISHING UP" stage...later...Jim McFadzean is going to help your dad...redo it...He has kindly given us materials from old jobs...to redo this bathroom...TRULY A BLESSING...to our family's BUDGET...(smile)
