First Smith Family Pumpkin Carving

Annie was dying to carve pumpkins for Halloween and so yesterday we decided to make an attempt at the feat as a family. And so, the adventure begins (“And may the odds ever be in our favor”)!

Annie and the Twins with their pumpkins! Madison and McKenzie weren’t exactly sure what to make of these big orange things.

After opening the pumpkin, McKenzie dove right in!!

 Madison wasn’t so sure…

Daddy on the other hand was hungry!!

McKenzie was having so much fun she decided to help Madison with her pumpkin!

Daddy begins to carve out the face of his pumpkin

Madison finally began to touch her pumpkin, but only with a spoon!! And even then she was wary…

McKenzie threw all caution to the wind and began to…experiment… with Mommy’s pumpkin

The actual pumpkin didn’t taste as well as she had hoped and so she began to try the seeds, which she found to be rather enjoyable (the next day her diaper was full of ‘em)!

And here is the end result!!

When it was all said and done, all 5 of us had a wonderful time! ;)

Abe and Annie Come to Visit

I know...I still haven't FINISHED posting MANY of our trips
this past SUMMER...but, I will go back...eventually...and COMPLETE those trips...

However, I just loaded these pictures up of
Abe and Annie's VISIT a couple of weeks ago!
The pictures were TOO cute NOT to get these up!
Abe wanted to help his dad on a cooking "community" service project for:
Glacier High School's Booster Club!
Garvin home teaches the Vice Principle of Glacier High School - who called and asked Garvin
if he would cook for their "Booster Club"...Of course, Garvin said "Yes"...
We cooked two Fridays in-a-row...

First...I will begin with our DARLING TWIN
baby girls...They are SO CUTE TO WATCH!!!!!

The many faces of Madison!
She is so fun to photograph!
Abe is in the background - making McKenzie laugh!

It was fun watching "Papa" play "blocks" with the twins...
Abe joined in...while Annie enjoyed watching...
The girls LOVED IT!

For me...as a "Mama" seeing and observing my own children
as parents...Abe LOVES to wrestle with the girls...
McKenzie is "belly laughing" as Abe rolls her around!
You can't help LAUGHING yourself...

GLACIER HIGH SCHOOL - Booster Club Event
Annie's brother, Jacob, played on the other "football" team - Flathead High School
Glacier and Flathead have been "rival" teams for years...
So, here we were cooking for "Glacier" while Jacob played for the "other" team!
In fact, Scott Dickson, one of our brothers who helped us cook...
wore his "Flathead" tee shirt...while we cooked...though, we
all ended up wearing "CHURCH" tee shirts from one of our
"CHURCH" events...(smile)
Our tee shirts said...
"Catch the Vision"
"Who Am I"
"Where Did I Come From"
"Who Can I Become"
(that was on the FRONT)
On the BACK - it had a SWORD...and it said...
"Arise and Shine Forth"
Helaman's Camp
Kalispell STAKE

LOVE IT!
OK...now, for the pictures...

 Abe cleaning the "Holy Griddle"
before the game...
We began to cook 2 hours
before the game...
We were only to cook to
HALF TIME...
but, people kept coming...
so, we had to send someone to the store from the booster club...
to get us more
hamburgers!

Garvin experimented!
We had BACON/Grilled onion BURGERS
(top seller)
and for those who wanted
"MUSHROOM/SWISS CHEESE"
burgers...had those...with
grilled ONIONS!

ABRAHAM...always in
"Sassy mode"

Scott Dickson - "in his Flathead High School shirt"
(by-the-way - has already given me "2" root canals...and soon TWO MORE)
(Good thing he has a GREAT sense of HUMOR...helps me when his is working on my TEETH!)
(smile) GREAT DENTIST...by the way!!!!!!!!!!
Also, Wally Hartman, came to help us out as well...
(Very sweet man - Psychologist - need one to work with Garvin on the GRILL!)
(smile)
Martha Reading (Left) and Mary Lou Hartman (Right)
Mary Lou has been my "right arm" for so many
Relief Society "moments"...though, she is now
in Young Women's - she has become
one of my dearest friends here...!
LOVE YOU, Mary Lou!

Bradenton...

Garvin and I found these "Bubble Guns" at Cracker Barrel...
We thought they would be so much fun!
The "Bubble" gun lights up and
shoots out the bubbles!
(smile)

Papa showing Rachel how to use it!
As you can see - she got the hang of it!

Papa Garvin...Had some FUN, too!

"BUBBLE WAR!"

Fourteen Fundamentals Ezra Taft Benson (1899-1994, thirteenth President of the Church) gave an address in which he defined “Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet.
1) The prophet is the only man who speaks for the Lord in everything.
2) The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.
3) The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet.
4) The prophet will never lead the Church astray.
5) The prophet is not required to have any particular earthly training or credentials to speak on any subject or act on any matter at any time.
6) The prophet does not have to say, “Thus saith the Lord” to give us scripture.
7) The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.
8) The prophet is not limited by men’s reasoning.
9) The prophet can receive revelation on any matter, temporal or spiritual.
10) The prophet may advise on civic matters.
11) The two groups who have the greatest difficulty in following the prophet are the proud who are learned and the proud who are rich.
12) The prophet will not necessarily be popular with the world or the worldly.
13) The prophet and his counselors make up the First Presidency—the highest quorum in the Church.
14) Those who follow the living prophet and the First Presidency will be blessed; those who reject them will suffer.

My goodness...what a YEAR!
We just got back from IDAHO - the celebrating of Savannah's baptism...
Nearly 480 pictures were taken...
I am hoping SARAH will take care of these pass few days...on HER BLOG...(smile)
while I catch up on the FLORIDA trip...
and... then...I must FIND out MISSOURI TRIP pictures...that I loaded up
before my COMPUTER CRASHED...still can't locate them...
but, I pray...they got stored on this mini hard-drive I have...
Just don't know, yet, how to retrieve stuff off that
little hard-drive...I had such GREAT pictures
of Josh/Holly FAMILY with Rick and Fran Miller...(arrggg...blasted VIRUSES)
Plus, I still need to finish our trip when we went and saw our brothers in Oregon and Washington...
and the celebration of MARJ's 80th Birthday...

OK...enough rattling on...
Here are the remainder pictures from our BEACH day
in Bradenton...with Dave/Jenny family and Caleb and Rose...
NOT ALL THE PICTURES are being POSTED...

It was so fun to see "Papa Smith" play in the ocean with Rachel...
They seemed to have so much fun together!

PURE DELIGHT!

Rose noticing...Caleb bleeding from the "barnacles" that
he was scratched from - when he was hanging on
the "marker" out in the water...

 Yeah...glad he didn't attract "sharks"

Daddy Dave and his baby girl...

Rachel was so delighted with her "new treasure"

Garvin was so "content" just floating...

MORE FUN!

Maybe the view of the world...is better from this angle...

I LOVE seeing my children TOGETHER!
Jenny and Caleb!

I have NO IDEA what Caleb had planned with this
wad of sand...hmmm....

LOVE IT!
Papa and Rachel...

Turtle protection...

Just a REMINDER of how much...
