Preparing for WINTER....TOO LATE!

My goodness...WINTER...how is it YOU fooled us...
sneaking in and interfering with one of the nicest FALL SEASONS
we have experienced in awhile...

We almost didn't get the "hoses" in on time...
Icecles tumbled out...as Garvin wrapped them up for the winter...
Nice size to add to soda or lemonade...
Well...some things we didn't get to... fast enough...
Hmmm..."broken pipes" have
been our nemisis this year!
We are LEARNING FAST... what the consequences are...
when not paying attention to such matters...):
Opps! I was wondering why I heard "rushing" water
going..."somewhere"...
Fortunately...this one didn't FLOOD US OUT
like it did earlier in the year...
OK...mixed messages here...
Dark clouds...and the SUN SHINING!
Perhaps...my little friend here was giving us a "sign"
that there was more to come?

Ah...huh...

Our first "skeef" of snow - HALLOWEEN!
What a trick! Was not a TREAT!
It is here....WINTER....is HERE!
(front yard)
Back deck...
I took this picture from our bedroom window
Yes...INSIDE the HOUSE!
(I wasn't in the mood to deal with 21 degrees...)
At all possible, today, the car will stay right where it is...
In the meantime...
I am relishing my FALL decorations
INSIDE the HOUSE...
and a nice WARM FIRE in the wood stove!
YES!

T-Bone Hamburgers

There is something about growing your own food...
harvesting it...
and then, blessed to enjoy the bounty of it...

Our first taste...of sampling

Hyrum and The Rexburg Idaho Temple

One of Garvin's and my goals and truly a dream...
was to see that all of our children would be
endowed in the "House of the Lord"...
Hyrum, on the 14th of October
fulfilled that dream...
We decided to have Hyrum receive his endowment
in the Rexburg Idaho Temple so that some of
his siblings could be there...
Rebekah, Abraham, and Angel were able to be there.
Sarah had made a commitment to her
Relief Society to teach 2 classes prior to Hyrum making the appointment,
so she was unable to attend.
Annie, Abe's wife, and Joel, Rebekah's husband, were able
to be there.  My BEST MISSIONARY companion, Mary Jane Williams,
also, made the endowment session.

"missionary" suits

Angel Moroni.  The angel Moroni depicts both a messenger of the restoration of the gospel and a herald of the Second Coming: "for the Son of Man shall come, and he shall send his angels before him with the great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together the remainder of his elect from the four winds" (JS-M 1:37).

LOVE THE United States Flag blowing in the wind!
Bright "Fall" colors!
Rebekah...Has more fun with a camera! (smile)
Sarah who would have been there...had it not been for a prior commitment!
And I wonder why...the "Smith" boys...have a hard time taking a decent picture!
